Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items. Manuscripts that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected by the editorial office.

1. Originality and Prior Publication
•    [ ] The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
•    [ ] The manuscript is the authors' own original work and does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.

2. File Format and Technical Requirements
•    [ ] The submission file is in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) document file format.
•    [ ] The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font (e.g., Times New Roman); employs italics rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review Integrity (Anonymization)
•    [ ] The instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed. I have removed all identifying information—including author names, affiliations, and identifying metadata—from the manuscript file.
•    [ ] Any self-citations that could reveal the author's identity have been temporarily anonymized (e.g., replaced with "Author, Year").

4. Structural and Methodological Compliance
•    [ ] The manuscript includes a structured Abstract (150–250 words) and 3–5 Keywords.
•    [ ] The manuscript aligns with the Focus and Scope of JIHSI, integrating interdisciplinary perspectives from the humanities and social sciences.
•    [ ] Methodological approaches (e.g., textual analysis, fieldwork, or comparative frameworks) are clearly articulated in a dedicated section.

5. Bibliographic and Citation Standards (APA 7th)
•    [ ] All in-text citations and the final reference list strictly adhere to the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition style.
•    [ ] Where available, URLs and DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) for the references have been provided and are formatted as active links.

6. Ethical Disclosures and Statements
•    [ ] A Conflict of Interest statement is included within the manuscript or the submission metadata.
•    [ ] All authors listed meet the ICMJE criteria for authorship, and any other contributors are appropriately acknowledged.
•    [ ] If the study involves human subjects (e.g., interviews or ethnography), a statement regarding ethical approval and informed consent is included.
•    [ ] Any use of Generative AI tools in the research or writing process has been disclosed in accordance with the JIHSI Generative AI Policy.

7. Data Availability
•    [ ] A Data Availability Statement has been provided, indicating where the underlying data (e.g., quantitative datasets, field notes, or primary source transliterations) can be accessed.
