Article Processing Charges

The Journal of Islamic Humanities and Social Inquiry (JIHSI) is an open-access journal. To provide free access to readers and to cover the costs of peer review management, journal production, and online hosting, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied to manuscripts accepted for publication.

APC Amount:
•    Indonesian Authors: IDR 600,000 per accepted manuscript.
•    International Authors: USD 35 per accepted manuscript.

Why are these fees charged? The fees are used to cover the following operational costs:
1.    Digital Object Identifier (DOI): Registration of a unique DOI via Crossref for every published article to ensure permanent discoverability.
2.    Platform Maintenance: Maintenance and hosting of the OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform.
3.    Digital Preservation: Costs associated with long-term archiving services (e.g., CLOCKSS/LOCKSS) to ensure the permanent availability of scholarly work.
4.    Plagiarism Screening: Costs for premium plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate) used during the initial review phase.
5.    Administrative Processing: Editorial office expenses and manuscript formatting/layout services to meet international indexing standards.

Payment Policy:
•    No Submission Fee: JIHSI does not charge any fee for the submission or the peer-review process.
•    Post-Acceptance: The APC is only requested after the manuscript has undergone a rigorous peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication by the Editor-in-Chief.
•    Waiver Policy: JIHSI offers a waiver policy for authors who demonstrate financial hardship or are from low-income countries, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the publication of high-quality research.
