Copyright and Licensing

The Journal of Islamic Humanities and Social Inquiry (JIHSI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the free exchange of knowledge. To support this mission, JIHSI applies the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license to all published works.

Licensing Terms
By publishing in JIHSI, authors agree to have their work licensed under the CC BY 4.0 license. This license allows others to:
•    Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
•    Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
These permissions are granted under the following condition:
•    Attribution: Users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. This must be done in a reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the user or their use.

Copyright Retention
In accordance with the best practices for reputable open-access journals, JIHSI implements the following copyright policy:
•    Authors Retain Copyright: Authors who publish in JIHSI retain the full copyright of their work without restrictions.
•    Unrestricted Rights: Authors grant JIHSI a non-exclusive right to publish the article as the first publisher. Authors also retain the right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), provided there is an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.

User Rights
The open-access nature of JIHSI ensures that the wider academic community, researchers, and the general public have immediate and free access to the full text of all articles. Under the CC BY 4.0 license, readers are encouraged to utilize the published research for further inquiry, provided that the original authors and JIHSI are properly cited as the original source.

Author Warranties
Upon submission, authors warrant that:
•    The manuscript is an original work and has not been previously published.
•    They own the copyright to the material or have obtained necessary permissions for any third-party content included.
•    The work does not infringe upon any existing trademarks, patents, or intellectual property rights of others.
